Overview
In September 2017, Kailash overland tour from Kerung border underway as an alternative route, which is easily accessible to Mount Kailash from the suburbs of Nepal. This tour starts with sightseeing in Kathmandu. Not only this but also AID Team will take you to the UNESCO listed world heritage sites of the Kathmandu valley. As an alternative, you can also make a visit to Muktinath by arriving in Nepal a few days earlier. Soon after this, we will have an enchanting view of the Langtang National Park and cross the Nepal- Tibet border to arrive at Kerung. Reaching there, we will drive to the villages of Saga, Mansarovar, and Darchen with great views of the sacred Mt. Kailash, Mt. Gurla-Mandala, Rakshash Lake, and Lake Mansarovar. As per the itinerary, on day 8, we will initiate the 3 day-long Kailash Kora. The objective of this tour is to view the gigantic landscape of the sacred top of Kailash, Holy Lake of Mansarovar, and the highest pass of Drolma La. As the journey of the Kailash Overland Tour takes; we can curtail or extend our trip as per our requirements. The most suitable time to visit Mt. Kailash – is between May to August.
Outline Itinerary
Day 01:Arrive in Kathmandu (1300 m) transfer to hotel and overnight
Day 02:Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu.Overnight at Hotel
Day 03:Drive Kathmandu to Syabrubesi (By Tourist Bus). Overnight at Guest House
Day 04:Drive from Syabrubesi to Kerung. Overnight at Guest house
Day 05:Drive from Kerung to Saga (5-6 hours, 4640m). Overnight at Guest house
Day 06:Drive from Saga to Lake Mansarovar (5-6 hours, 277km, 4558m). Overnight at Guest house
Day 07:Exploration Day. Drive to Darchen (1 hour, 40km, 4575m). Overnight at Hotel Today
Day 08:Kailash Kora. Drive from Darchen to Yamadwar and trek to Derapuk (5-6 hours, 4900m). Overnight at Guest house
Day 09:Kailash Kora. Trek to Juthulpuk via Drolma La Pass (8-9 hours, 19km, 4760m). Overnight at Guest house
Day 10:Kailash Kora. Drive back to Saga. Overnight at Guest house
Day 11:Drive back to Kerung. Overnight at Guest house
Day 12:Drive back to Kathmandu. Overnight at hotel
Day 13:Final departure to home

- International flight tickets and visa fees of Nepal
- Personal Horse riding/helper expenses during the Mount Kailash Circuit (Kora) (around 3500 Chinese Yuan)
- Your travel insurance, Insurance for emergency rescue & evacuation service
- Personal expenses and Tip for guide, driver
- If pilgrims leave the group early from the Tibet side for non – disease reasons then USD 100 per person per day has to be paid as a penalty to the Tibet side – T.A.R. Foreign Exchange Center (FEC). ( Visa splitting charge, accommodation, transportation charges will be extra)
- Extra accommodation charge in Kathmandu, Nepalgunj, Simikot, and Hilsa if the flight is canceled due to bad weather or delay in Permit /Visa from Tibet (Please make sure your air ticket is flexible to change dates)
- Visa splitting charge and extra transportation cost, if returning early from Tibet.
- Any additional cost due to natural calamities and unforeseen circumstances
