Overview

Short/Easy Poonhill Trek also known by many as Annapurna Sunrise Trek, is a classic and one of the best trekking packages in Nepal, which offers the best opportunities to witness typical village life and enjoy ethnic hospitality. Considered one of the best short treks in Nepal, it is a relatively easy hike traversing through picturesque Gurung villages, rhododendron forests and breathtaking, panoramic views of the massive Himalayas.

A medley of Nepalese beauty awaits you on this journey through sub-tropical valleys, paved stone staircases and twittering bird sounds in the dense forests. The actual trek begins after a short drive from Pokhara to Nayapul, from where the trail follows a river, often rising to the terraced villages along the ridges. Passing through dense forests of rhododendron, oak and maple, and the steep stone staircases, the path treads on to traditional villages with majestic views of the iconic Machhapuchhre, Annapurna South, Dhaulagiri, Nilgiri, Tukuche, and Hiunchuli mountain peaks.
